Travel to Dublin

Saturday the 14th of July arrived and we are ready to travel to Dublin.  We have started going to the club pool every morning to do water exercises for one hour and since our flight was not until the late afternoon, we headed to the pool.  Only one other man was using the pool.  He walks around the edge of the pool with his weights for about a hour.  We work in the middle so we both can exercise without bothering one another.

Back at the house we finished packing and then went to Jersey Mikes for a take out sub.  We eat at home as it is nicer than the busy shop.

Our ride came at 2pm and while riding to the airport, the thunderstorms began.  So our flight boarded on time but we sat at the end of the runway for 20 minutes or so until we were given the go ahead to take off.  But when we got the the Atlanta area, we were placed in a holding pattern for what seemed like 45 minutes until we could land.  So the two hours between our flight ended up being only 20 minutes.  And of course, we came in at terminal B and our flight to Dublin was in terminal E.  But we made it.

Boarding was interesting as they now use facial recognition for you to board.  So one at a time you go up and stand before a camera and it takes you picture and then you are given a slip of paper and you can board.

We were in row 2 so had an individual pod.  They go completely flat so sleeping is fairly good.  Food was terrible but that is nothing new.  I did eat the soup and a roll and that was enough for me.  I did get to sleep for about 3-4 hours.

We took a taxi to the hotel and our room was ready so we checked in and came up and unpacked some items and then took a nap.  Now catching up on blog.

More to come.

After catching up on some well deserved sleep,  Bob went out to check out the area.  I stayed in the hotel and did some needlepoint and caught up on emails, etc.

Dinner was in the hotel dining room.  Being Sunday, lots of restaurants are closed.  Bob and I both started with our Makers Mark Old Fashioned.   Tasty.  And then Guiness Onion Soup.  Then Bob had a Coburg Salad and I had the Duck and Watermelon salad.  All very good.

Back to the room and watched one of Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible.  Non stop action but who can fight like that and keep on coming?  This was the one where he was in Dubai and on the Berj Kalifi.

Then lights out.  Did get a pretty good night sleep.

I am finishing this in the morning and I tried to post two pictures from our dinner but it did not work. Will have to go to plan B.
